Finlandia Village Friendly Visiting Outreach for Sudbury Seniors:
233 Fourth Avenue, Sudbury, P3B 4C3
The Finlandia Village Friendly Visiting Outreach for Sudbury Seniors project will focus on inclusiveness of older adults and to alleviate loneliness. The results of this project will serve to determine the viability of friendly visiting in the community, the type of orientation and training needed for volunteers and the resources necessary for infrastructure and ongoing support and sustainability. This project is for a seniors’ friendly visiting program in the Finlandia Village Sudbury ( multi-cultural environment).
Home visits will take place in Finlandia Village. Companionship and social contact will be provided to seniors through friendly home visits or phone calls. Volunteers will be carefully matched to seniors by interests, language or culture. Transportation costs will be covered to the Ontario Travel for northern Ontario for volunteers. Funded by a community grant by the Ontario Seniors’ Secretariat.
Help us eliminate isolation, so seniors can feel connected to their community. To volunteer call the Volunteer Department at
